Resilience of memory (2021)

This site-responsive installation was made during my residency at I-Park in East Haddam, CT. It is made only of gravel/sand and pine needles found on site, in an area that was formerly a gravel/sand pit but has been undergoing rewilding for the past 20 years. The pine needles cause the gravel/sand to undergo granular jamming, a phase transition-like shift from fluid to solid.
